Worldwide there is over 600,000 Kiwanians volunteering in nearly 100 countries.
The Clovis Kiwanis is a part of Division 5 (California-Nevada-Hawai’i District). Division 5 covers the Kiwanis clubs of Fresno and Madera Counties in Central California. The current Lieutenant Governor of Division 5 is Mr. David Pinuelas of the Kiwanis Club of Reedley Sunrise.
In existence since 1975, the club currently has 52 members representing a wide range of professions, working and retired, including accountancy, finance, legal and medical professions, retail and wholesale sales, contractors, printers, small business owners, educators, and private and public sector employees. Members live both within and without the city limits of Clovis.
The club is involved in a wide range of activities in the community, most notably the Thanksgiving Food Baskets Program (November), the Annual Senior Citizens Christmas Luncheon (December), the 200 Club fund raiser (March), and Freedom Fest Fourth of July Celebration (July). In cooperation with the Kiwanis Club of Old Town Clovis, in alternate years, we cook for the Rodeo Queen’s Dinner held in April of each year.
We sponsor youth organizations, support community-wide service facilities such as the Majoree Mason Center, Break the Barriers, and Special Olympics; cook pancake breakfasts and other meals for various community events; sponsor bike programs for elementary school children; donate books to the Boys and Girls Club of Clovis; and provide college scholarships for graduating seniors from the high schools in the Clovis Unified School District.
